Emcyte™Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy at Younique Skin Clinic
Harness Your Body's Natural Healing Power
At Younique Skin Clinic, we use Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy to restore and rejuvenate your skin and hair using your body’s own natural regenerative abilities. PRP is an autologous blood product, meaning it’s derived from your own blood. It contains a concentrated mix of platelets, white blood cells (leukocytes), and plasma, all rich in growth factors that stimulate collagen production, enhance skin texture, and promote cellular repair.
When injected into targeted areas, PRP activates natural healing pathways and collagen synthesis—a key structural protein in the dermis. As collagen declines with age, PRP offers a safe, natural way to support skin integrity and reduce signs of ageing.
Why We Choose EmCyte™ PRP System
Not all PRP systems deliver the same results. At Younique Skin Clinic, we use the EmCyte™ PRP System—the highest-quality and most effective system available in Australia.
Concentrated Results: Produces 5 to 9 times the baseline platelet concentration.
Consistent Quality: Double centrifugation yields up to 10 billion platelets in one treatment.
Superior Purity: Removes red blood cells that contribute to post-treatment inflammation.
TGA & FDA Approved: Ensures sterility and efficacy in every session.
What PRP Can Improve
Fine lines and early wrinkles
Sun-damaged and ageing skin
Crepey skin (especially under the eyes)
Acne scars and uneven tone
Mild facial volume loss
Thinning hair and early hair loss
Scalp health and follicle activity
PRP for Hair Regeneration
PRP is also used to revitalise the scalp, stimulate dormant hair follicles, and support hair regrowth in cases of early hair loss or thinning. It is an excellent complementary treatment to medical management of alopecia.
What to Expect from Treatment
Consultation: Before starting, Nurse Neroli will assess your health, suitability, and desired outcomes.
Preparation: A small blood sample is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the PRP.
Injection: The PRP is gently injected into targeted areas of the face or scalp.
Each session takes around 90 minutes initially and approximately 60 minutes for follow-up treatments.
Post-Treatment & Results
Mild redness or swelling is expected for 24–48 hours.
Small bruises may appear but subside quickly.
Most clients resume normal activity the next day.
Visible results develop progressively as collagen and growth factor production ramps up. We recommend a course of 3 treatments over 12 weeks, followed by maintenance every 6 months.
Pre-Treatment Preparation
To optimise your PRP collection:
Drink at least 1L or more of water the day before and the day of treatment.
Limit alcohol consumption and coffee where possible prior and post treatment for a short period.
Who Is PRP For?
PRP is ideal for anyone seeking a natural, bio-compatible approach to skin and hair restoration. It’s particularly helpful during times of hormonal change, such as menopause, where studies show up to a 30% loss in collagen during the first five years.
Is PRP Safe?
PRP has been used in medicine for over 30 years and is well-established in aesthetics since 2010. It is:
Antimicrobial
Biocompatible
Low-risk when administered by a trained professional
Most side effects are minor, such as mild swelling or discomfort. Serious complications are rare.
When PRP Might Not Be Suitable
Low platelet count or platelet dysfunction
Active infection or illness
Blood or bone marrow disorders
Recent anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications
Smokers/vapers may experience reduced efficacy
Is EmCyte™ PRP System TGA Approved?
Yes. The EmCyte™ haematological concentrate system used at Younique Skin Clinic is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ensuring it meets the highest standards for medical-grade PRP preparation.
